The box is the same size as the room, but instead of being square or rectangular, it is shaped like an irregular polyhedron with many sides and angles; its angles are covered with mirrors in which you can see not only all the corners of the room but also yourself, multiplied endlessly in every direction. You are being watched by your image multiplied in the mirrors; if you move, all your images move; and since there are so many of them and they are so close to one another, they begin to imitate each other: they smile at you, wink at you, shrug their shoulders.
